ACR Health Services is seeking a Contract Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide diagnostic assessments, medication under the supervision of agency's medical director, a licensed physician. (Days and times are flexible).

Founded in 2007, we operate a comprehensive network of clinical, therapeutic, educational, and employment programs and services that positively impact the lives of hundreds of individuals and families every year. ACR provides an array of behavioral health and social welfare services for children, adolescents, adults and families. Serving the Atlanta Metropolitan area. Programs include services include outpatient counseling, in-home services, group therapy, alcohol and drug counseling, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Peer Support, psychiatric assessments, nursing assessments, and mediation management.

The Contract Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner:
• Provides diagnostic assessments, medication management, writes prescriptions, evaluates efficacy and safety of medication prescribed, adjust medications as necessary to maintain wellness in a clinic setting, two days a week, while working under the supervision of agency's medical director, a licensed physician. (Days and times are flexible)
• Develop and implement a system of administering and monitoring psychiatric medications to individuals participating in ACR's Behavior Health Recovery programs.
• Record in individual's record the medication, dosage, frequency, changes and observations on the effectiveness and side effects.
• Develop individual recovery plans in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team that includes, peer specialists, case managers, registered nurses, addiction counselors and therapists to assure commonality in goals of service.
• Diagnose patients, conduct therapy, and prescribe medications for individuals who have psychiatric disorders, medical mental conditions, or substance abuse problems.
• Complete Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale (AIMS) Assessment every six months for clients, interpret findings, assess for Tardive Dyskinesia and when Tardive Dyskinesia is indicated determine the most appropriate course of treatment, considering both the effects of Tardive Dyskinesia and the patient's psychiatric condition.

Qualifications:
Must be an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), licensed in the State of Georgia; either: Nurse Practitioner (NP); or Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatric/Mental Health (CNS/PMH) with two years of psychiatric nursing experience.
