A VERY, VERY SPECIAL thanks goes out to our beloved state Treasurer, Ms. Debi Gas, who is responsible for the arrival of our very brand new UAPRN T-Shirts!!
We have sizes from medium, large, and extra-large for purchase. The material is a high quality with our new branded organization's slogan, "UAPRN: Shining a Light for Georgia Health"
This reflects beautifully our branded organization's trademarked logo which represents the Georgia map with the three distinct characteristics of the Georgia APRN: Unity, Diligence, and Compassion. Under these defining characteristics that we should strive to uphold daily in our practice settings, reflects our incredible historical link to our profession. This is represented by the Nightingale Lamp. The 2006 year is included to depict our year of becoming officially incorporated as an organization, and the surrounding of the olive branches the concept of peace.
On the back side of the 'T-Shirt is the mnemonic device spelled out to represent:
Unifying nurses
Advancing healthcare
Practicing compassion
Reaching consensus
Now-- for Georgia's future
This overlays the Nightingale lamp again.
The t-shirts represent a consensus of your state officers and another effort by your state president to bring recognition, acknowledgement, further advance our organization's presence, notoriety, and importance around our state.
The color is a blue with green script. The cost is $20.00.
For now, I have a box of approximately 20 T-Shirts only. In the weeks ahead, many more will be ordered. Thus, these 20 T-Shirts will go to those who contact me first. These T-shirts and other items for purchase depicting our organization's branded logo and slogan will be available online in our new online store. The date for launching this is yet to be determine.
However, I encourage all of our members to commit to a small effort of personal promoting and advertising about the role of the APRN in Georgia and the role that our organization serves throughout the state.
Anyone wanting to purchase one of the very first T-Shirts that I currently have, may email me his/her request at jflaprn@gmail.com
The launch of these T-Shirts have been strategically planned the week before our celebration is to begin for national Nurse Practitioner Week!
We kicked the celebration off early last Saturday as a few of us gave back to Georgians at Project Open Hand. Our efforts were received by Georgians who are frail older adults, those living with HIV and cancer who are to weak to prepare a meal for themselves. As we by prepared the meals and then packaged them up for the same day or early next day delivery to hundreds of individuals around metro Atlanta last weekend, we were reminded that for many, this would be the recepient's one nutritional balanced meal and/or only food they received all day or their only meal they would receive for several days !
Everyone present attested the significance of such a small act of kindness had upon them. At the end of our time at Project Open Hand last Saturday, I do not think I had ever been so proud and blessed to know that our efforts were going to make such an impact on othersthat day. We were all truly blessed and speechless at times !
Our efforts of volunteerism and compassion were just one example of UAPRN events occuring around the state over the next two weeks depicting APRNs' kindness, magnanimity, and genuine concern for the well-being of other Georgians.
We truly are a shining light for all Georgians!
Please let your state officers know what you think of our creativity, collaboration, and commitment to our members at large.
A picture of the T-Shirt is in this announcement in the form of an attachment.
Enjoy!!
