President’s Message
Greetings to all, I trust this message finds you well
Today, we stand at a pivotal moment in our journey as Advanced Practice Registered Nurses in Georgia. It is a time not only for reflection on our achievements as part of The United Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of Georgia (UAPRN) but also for envisioning a future of greater collaboration, influence, and impact on healthcare delivery across our state.
As we look ahead, the importance of building strong partnerships with the various healthcare systems, clinical and legislative organizations and stakeholders cannot be overstated. These alliances are foundational to our ability to advocate effectively for our profession and for the patients we serve. It is time to shift gears, laying a solid foundation for succession and growth within UAPRN.
One crucial strategy is the implementation of committees under UAPRN that foster mentorship, collaboration with Nurse Practitioner programs, and provide a platform for meaningful feedback from healthcare leaders such as CNOs and CEOs. By bringing key stakeholders to the table, we can engage in serious discussions on how to create a patient-centered healthcare model tailored to the needs of Georgians.
Encouraging every Nurse Practitioner in our state to become a member of UAPRN is essential. Membership strengthens our collective voice and allows us to advocate more effectively for policies that benefit both APRNs and the patients we serve. Additionally, supporting our Political Action Committee (PAC) through donations enables us to influence legislative decisions that impact our practice environment.
We must also diversify our organizational structure. While the Government Relations Committee (GRC) has done commendable work, we can enhance our impact by developing additional committees that elevate the visibility and advocacy efforts of Nurse Midwives, Nurse Anesthetists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and every APRN specialty.
Together, let us commit to fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within UAPRN. Let us leverage our collective expertise and passion to shape the future of healthcare delivery in Georgia, ensuring that it remains patient-centered, efficient, and equitable.
I am inspired by the potential that lies before us. Through unity and strategic partnership, we can achieve transformative change for our profession and for the healthcare landscape of Georgia.
Thank you for your dedication, your commitment, and your unwavering support. Together, let us continue to lead and advocate for the best possible care for our patients and our communities.
With Appreciation,
Nancy A. Hurlock, DNP, AGPCNP-BC
