Legislative Update:
Sine Die (last day of the legislative session) is Wednesday, March 29th! We have several pieces of legislation that include limited schedule II prescribing, disability placard authority, and APRN licensure. Currently in Georgia APRNs can only practice under their RN license with an “authorization to practice.” This diminishes our authority, makes workforce data tracking difficult, and overall contributes to confusion of roles and responsibilities. Not having APRN licensure can also keep us from participating in APRN compact license states. We are very thankful for all the hard work over the past several years that has gone into creating and passing this legislation. We will have a final update Thursday, March 30th at 8 PM on our Update at 8! Also be sure to register for our next Legislative Workshop on Saturday, April 15th!
