Request from Georgia Concussion Coalition)

Posted almost 11 years ago by Laura Searcy

UAPRN

Advanced Practice Nursing in Georgia supported the passage of the “Return to Play” act put forth by the Georgia Concussion Coalition to ensure that student athletes who suffer concussion/head injuries are not endangered by inadequate evaluation and treatment before returning to their sport.

We are now being asked to assist with implementation of this act by the Georgia Concussion Coalitionby assisting in outreach and education. This request is to all UAPRN Chapters to reply with responses to lsearcy@caprn.org. The Coalition of Advanced Practice registered Nurses (CAPRN) will compile the responses and forward cumulative numbers to the concussion coalition. This is particularly pertinent to our pediatric and family practice NP’s and acute and specialty care NP’s who treat children with sports related head injury.
