SB 321 BRINGS PARITY BETWEEN PAs AND APRNs
KEY CHANGES IN SB 321 WHICH CREATES PARITY BETWEEN PA/APRNS INCLUDE:
- Increases the physician to PA supervision ratio to 1:4
o APRNs already have this ratio
- Allows APRNs to order advanced radiographic imaging in non-life-threatening situations when authorized by the physician protocol agreement
o PAs already have this authorization
o APRNs can already order advanced radiographic imaging in life-threatening situations
o Georgia is the ONLY STATE in the nation WITH THIS RESTRICTION ON APRNS
o This change was already approved by the House on Day 28 by a vote of 114 to 38 in HB 1092
