Dear Unity Conference Attendees,

The United Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of Georgia (UAPRN) and the Georgia Nurses Association (GNA) welcomes you to the inaugural Unity Conference 2018. As the UAPRN State President, I am thrilled that you have joined us for three days of dynamic content spanning the life cycle. The APRN and RN practice roles are increasingly recognized as solutions to many of the shortfalls related to access to healthcare, particularly in our rural areas. Meeting the needs of individuals, communities and the entire state of Georgia is our continuous charge. This year’s proceedings serve to highlight the best and brightest among us dedicated to the various roles within the RN, APRN and Executive/Leadership tracks. “Advancing Health Through Synergy” captures the spirit of UAPRN’s mission to collaborate with every willing healthcare-centric organization focused on mobilizing individual strengths to advance healthcare via greater total effects. Our vision and direction in collaboration with the Georgia Nurses Association is evident in all this conference offers.

Dr. Linda Burnes Bolton serves as the opening keynote speaker for Friday, October 5th. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center lauds her as their esteemed Vice President of Nursing, Chief Nursing Executive and Director of Nursing Research. Dr. Peter Buerhaus serves as the keynote speaker for conference day two. As a renowned nurse economist, his research captures nursing workforce data that brings clarity to the impact nurses have in our state. Dr. Ernest Grant also joins us as a keynote speaker. He brings greetings from the American Nurses Association as their President Elect. Candidates for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State and Attorney General will be on hand to address all attendees as they share their future visions for nursing in healthcare. Conference offerings cover topics inclusive of Cardiology, Respiratory Disease, Women’s Health, Health policy, Professional development, Informatics, Transformational Leadership, Suturing/Orthopedic & Joint Injection Training, and LGBTQ Health care issues. This wide array of topics speaks to the various specialties and clinical foci in which RNs and APRNs concentrate. There is content for everyone!

This year we offer approximately 21 contact hours of CE credit inclusive of approximately 6 pharmacology credits. A vendors market with 30+ vendors will be on hand to share the latest goods and services for RNs, APRNs, Students, Nurse Executives and Nurse Leaders. Many opportunities for networking and mentoring are available especially during Friday evening’s networking gala. Make sure you are on hand to make new friends and experience it all. We recognize that as we work to find ways to bring optimal healthcare to Georgians, we must do it together. So therefore, moving forward together with our “One Voice” mantra amplifies this year’s Unity theme. Please continue to support UAPRN and GNA - your state APRN and nursing wide organizations. We welcome you to the Cobb Galleria Conference Center in beautiful Cobb County!!
