GA NPs in Primary or Urgent Care Settings. Please Help with Important Georgia NP Sociological Research!!!!

INTRO: My name is Jeff Shelton and I am a doctoral candidate in Sociology at the University of Georgia. I am currently in the process of conducting interviews with nurse practitioners, focusing mostly on those in primary or urgent care settings.

RESEARCH FOCUS:

I am interested in learning more about the work experiences and motivations of NPs. For example: Why do nurses become an NP? What aspects of the work bring joy? Frustration? What contexts or conditions lead to one or the other experience?

What do NPs think about the scope or practice laws in the state and how does this impact their work?

In short, I aim to better understand the work experiences of NPs; a group that I believe is incredibly important and often overlooked on the health-care landscape.

What I am seeking for is a chance to do one-on-one interviews with practicing NPs. They could be in person or over the phone. I have obtained IRB approval from the University of Georgia, but in fact, I will not be asking things that are particularly sensitive. Names of participants and identifying information -- like where they work or whom they work for -- will of course be omitted and general patterns will be featured in what I write for my dissertation. Interviews have been running from 45 minutes to a little over an hour.

If you are willing to help with this, or want to learn more before making a decision, then I'd-be grateful if you'd let me know.
