About The Opportunity

Emory Critical Care Center is actively recruiting Acute Care Nurse Practitioners (ACNP's) and Physician Assistants (PA's) to join our newly expanded Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at Emory University Hospital. This is a unique chance to become part of Emory's prestigious Critical Care APP team and contribute to setting new standards of excellence and innovation in critical care medicine.

We offer a variety of shifts to meet your schedule and career goals. Options include Daytime, Nocturnist, and Admitter shifts, with flexibility to align with your preferences.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Critical Care as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Nurse Practitioner candidates must hold Acute Care certification (ACNP or AGACNP)

Description

Join Emory’s renowned Critical Care APP Team at Emory University Hospital’s expanded CVICU. We are seeking experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to join our prestigious Critical Care APP team at our main hospital on the campus of Emory University.

We offer flexible scheduling options, including Daytime, Nocturnist, and Admitter roles. Typical full-time positions consist of 3 shifts per week, with opportunities for additional coverage.

Critical Care APP positions are open to experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants. Nurse Practitioner candidates must be Acute Care certified (ACNP or AGACNP).

  • Assists in the evaluation and treatment of patients.
  • Documents the delivery of care in the individual's medical records.
  • Conducts patient interviews and documents patient histories, psychosocial histories, health status and medical problems or potential problems.
  • Under the direction of a physician, performs physical examinations and specialized diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures including cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changes.
  • Assists physician in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
  • Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Licensed as appropriate in the state of Georgia.
  • May require at least one year of direct experience in one or more high acuity clinical specialties.
  • Current BLS and ACLS issued by the American Heart Association is required.
