Position Description

A respected behavioral health hospital south of Savannah, GA is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for an inpatient locum tenens assignment. Ideal for providers who thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced setting and want schedule flexibility (full-time or part-time).

Your Impact:

  • Manage admissions and discharges for adult inpatients
  • Conduct medication checks and monitor treatment response
  • Participate in weekly interdisciplinary meetings (MD, Medical Director, therapists, BHTs)
  • Average 12–16 patients/day
  • Treat co-occurring mental health + substance use disorders
  • Document in EMR and maintain inpatient compliance standards

Requirements:

  • Active Georgia APRN license with PMHNP and prescriptive authority
  • 1–3 years of inpatient or adult psychiatry experience preferred (newer PMHNPs with solid training considered)
  • Strong team communication and patient-centered approach

What’s Offered:

  • Locum hourly compensation (W2/1099 via staffing partner)
  • On-site support: Psychiatrist, Medical Director, Nurse Manager, BHTs, therapists
  • Flexible FT/PT availability; census ~18
